Mug developed from Grant Wood¡¯s American Gothic, 1930, from the Art Institute of Chicago¡¯s collection. American Gothic, 1932, was exhibited publicly for the first time at the Art Institute of Chicago, winning him a $300 prize and instant fame.  Our ceramic mug features a detail of this painting.
